Manifesto
Why Layers exists — and what it refuses to do.
Four movements. Not a feature list, a set of commitments we hold ourselves to.
It is yours.
What you share is your life data, not engagement metrics. Layers is built on the sovereignty of the human being — you can leave at any time, and take what is yours with you.
Curiosity before categorisation.
Layers does not lead with solutions or labels. It asks before it concludes. Context comes first; categorisation, if it comes at all, comes last.
The relationship is the unit, not the individual.
Most systems isolate a person and their problem. Layers treats relationships and the field between people as the primary unit of understanding.
Law in service of people.
Where Layers touches legal process, ethical intelligence leads. Procedure exists to serve people — not the other way around.
Layers is not built to own your data, to replace professionals, or to reduce people to a label. It exists to make understanding possible.
