From yet another app to a relational operating system

Every month another app shows up for productivity, wellbeing or team spirit. Most of them do exactly what they promise — and yet little changes in a team's underlying dynamic.

What's missing isn't a feature

The problem isn't a lack of tools. The problem is that every tool has its own narrow window onto people: one measures mood, one measures tasks, one measures engagement. None of them see the whole — the relationships, the history, the tension building over months between two colleagues who never argue, but also never truly collaborate anymore.

The shift we're making

Layers isn't designed as yet another productivity app. It's designed as the layer that reads what happens between people — over time, across teams, across the organization — and makes that available to the tools that already exist.

That's a different product direction than "another dashboard." It's the infrastructure that makes dashboards meaningful.
